We do our best work in unchartered territory

Each mission is designed with first-principles thinking and follows the principles of adaptive design based on results from implementation.
We do not push or advocate for pre-defined solutions; we build fit-for-purpose vehicles to maximise impact at scale for each mission:

How we select impact missions

Before we commit to multi-year missions, we conduct rigorous research, develop issue-based strategies and assess the stakeholder landscape to confirm the:

Timing

Timing, political will and institutional/local ownership of decision makers

Partners

Readiness and suitability of our potential partners

Scale

A range of clear, potential impact at scale pathways of the mission

Leverage

Highest leverage starting vehicle and design for the mission

How we work with our partners

On each impact mission, our partners bring domain expertise, experience, and resources and we bring depth in societal impact and philanthropy, first-principles strategy development and research, program and organisational design and incubation, and evidence-based adaptive management.

Together, we share the vision and strategic ownership, and in practice, form joint teams that are in it for the long haul to get to impact at scale.

Co-navigation

We have partners, not clients. Together, we use our complementary strengths and perspectives to co-navigate our way to impact at scale in a given mission.

Insider-Outsiders

We form joint teams with our partners, functioning as “insider-outsiders” who understand each other's contexts and challenges. This enables us to better support one another in the journey.

Long-term mission ownership

We work with our partners over the long-term as impact at scale takes years. Throughout the journey, we refine and adapt our strategies together based on what we learn.
